The mandate of the Friends of Glendon, as stated in the Letters Patent, is:

to promote the interests of Glendon College and to take such steps and proceedings as may be deemed expedient in that behalf, in particular to establish, undertake, superintend and administer a fund for scholarship in such manner as the Corporation may determine.

The Friends of Glendon College is managed by a board of directors composed of students, faculty, staff and alumni and elected annually by the members.

All currently enrolled students at Glendon College are members of the Friends of Glendon as are those donors who have given $50.⁰⁰ to the Friends in the current year.  Others may pay a $2.⁰⁰ annual membership fee to be eligible to participate in the election of directors.

The Friends of Glendon College Inc. was established in 1971 by Letters Patent, issued by the Government of Canada, as a not-for-profit corporation and is a federally registered charitable organization.
