On September 20, 2007, the Friends of Glendon College joined in the celebration honouring this year's outstanding news scholars and the recipients of more than $800,000 in scholarships and bursaries.  Over $95,000 of this assistance was provided through the three-decades long work of the Friends.

Friends of Glendon President, Ian Roberge used the occasion to announce the creation of two new scholarships named by the Friends to recognise the outstanding work the honourees have done and continue to do to help students and FoG.

• the Bourse Louise Lewin en études françaises, and
   

• the Gilles Fortin Scholarship in Business Economics.

The scholarships are named in honour of two people who have had a long history with Glendon. Louise Lewin is a long-standing faculty member and associate principal for student affairs, and Gilles Fortin, a York alumnus and Glendon’s executive officer.
